Chapter I

Roka & sagai

An intimate evening for both families: a rose-and-diya backdrop, a ring tray worth the photographs and a menu both sides argue about happily.

Chapter II

Haldi

Marigold curtains, brass urlis of turmeric and a morning playlist. We plan the mess too: a petal cannon, towels and a change room for every guest.

Chapter III

Mehendi

Low seating, floor cushions, chai and chaat counters, and six mehendi artists so the bride is done before sunset and the cousins are done before dinner.

Chapter IV

Sangeet

A stage, a show and a dance floor. We choreograph the family performances, run the cue sheet and keep the DJ on time, so no uncle waits two hours for his song.

Chapter V

Baraat & pheras

A ghodi or a vintage car, a band that knows the songs, a mandap timed to the muhurat your pandit ji gives, and seating where grandparents can actually see.

Chapter VI

Reception & vidaai

Tables dressed for the evening, a live counter menu, the first dance and then the quiet, emotional vidaai, which we give its own time and its own song.

“Ghats, diyas and two hundred people singing on a boat.”

Ananya and Kabir wanted their families to fall in love with Maheshwar the way they had. We built a three-day film around the river: haldi in a haveli courtyard, mehendi on the ghats and pheras at sunset.
